Skip Slaughter - Stone Mountain
|
Skip Slaughter Store Manager At the age of 14, Skip teamed up with some school buddies and became a hit at teen and adult clubs, where he performed throughout junior high and high school, first as a vocalist but more competently as a bassist. He continued to tour and perform at club and concert dates all over the East for seven years, playing pop, progressive rock, and later jazz fusion genres. During his touring years, he took the time to study recording arts at The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH. He detoured from the touring schedule to settle in Georgia, where he built his first studio and honed his skills in recording, mixing, composition, and production. These skills would later serve him when he had the good fortune of serving as head engineer and studio manager at the legendary Capricorn Records Studio in Macon, Georgia (then named Phoenix Recording). There he had the opportunity to work with many new and famous artists. His years of retail experience were gained working at Atlanta’s Rhythm City, and later at a large chain of musical instrument retailers in both sales and management capacities. He is proud to serve on the team of Ken Stanton Music as the Store Manager of our Stone Mountain store. The company’s integrity and tradition of excellent service, spanning over 65 years, provide a platform where he can share experience and knowledge, while his staff and he continues to help others realize their musical dreams.
